Jennifer and I will be donating our services on SATURDAY, April 2, 2011 (9am-12noon only) to the Japanese Tsunami Victims. From 10am till 12pm, we will provide adjustments (suggested donation of $30 each person, regular cost $50) until our hands fall off!*

From 9am until 10am, we'll be providing New Patient examinations (including scans - regular value $150). This'll be for New Patients and Patients who haven't been adjusted in our office in 6 months.*

If you are a current patient and REALLY need to be adjusted and all you have is $5, come in and donate - that's fine. We really do mean "suggested" donation. I can't say enough great things about Charlie and Carolyn Vandaveer.
They are a husband and wife team and are in a word meticulous. They do
primarily interior and also some exterior painting and their prices
are ALWAYS cheaper than their competitors. They also clean windows.

I had my house painted by Lithic Construction/Painting last year and
cannot say enough good stuff about their work. Ask for Nicholas, I
think he is the head of painting now anyway. He has an art degree from
VCU and was extremely helpful and kind while we were trying to get
that exact right shade of blue. His entire crew was professional,
fast, and polite, and they left my yard in pristine condition.

I highly recommend Mark Blackwell, 540-308-3855. We have an 1850 house
and he did a great job!

Rusty Deane is great and reasonable also! He has been doing painting

My husband and brother in law have a small painting business together

assistant. They did an excellent job and were very reasonably priced.

We found Sid Spain thru PNOC last year and had a positive experience
with him. He did a good job painting our porch, was courteous, prompt,

sheetrock/drywall work as well.

Robert Schoonover 434-960-4568. He has a crew who did the work and it
was the best price we were quoted, plus we think he did a great job.
He was also personable and explained everything, went the extra mile
to put paint swatches on to get the color right to our liking, etc.

1. I recommend Practical Arboriculture (434-760-1818). Jeff is the owner. He and his
team don't use cranes and lifts--they climb the old fashioned way with ropes and
harnesses. Therefore, they can usually get the lowest bid on pricing. As for quality, Jeff's
been climbing and caring for trees almost his entire life. His team is well-trained, and
they're contracted to work at places like Michie Tavern and Monticello, to name a few. I
highly recommend them!

2. Chandler Tree Care (842-5300) Henry Chandler is excellent - he's out of Fluvanna.
He's honest, hard-working, and donates the wood he hauls off to his ministry to help the
needy with heating through the winter. I

Then I found this on the INTERNET: Need a great tree surgeon to trim or remove some
trees? (Tree removal pains me to no end, but we had to have it done in one spot and I can't
speak highly enough for this fellow. He WAY beat the competition in giving us an excellent
price. He does this work part-time, working full-time as a math teacher for the Albemarle
County Schools. And the more you talk about the art of dealing scientifically with
challenging trees, the more you'll be glad you have a MATH TEACHER calculating the
difficulty of the task! You don't want those limbs falling down on the roof or the car!!)

3. We used Woodson's Tree Service in late June and were really happy with their work.
We have LOTS of trees that need help and we plan on asking them back next year again.

years ago (the trees had been neglected and had any number of dead and dying branches).
I was pleased with their knowledge of trees and quality of service.

6. My husband has a fairly new company in town, The Cutting Edge Professional Tree
Service. They seem to give the lowest estimates in town. The company is bonded and
insured. They have an ad in the yellow pages. You would need to give them a call, Andrew
Smith 434-960-1382 and they would come and look at it to give you an estimate and
work with you from there. Hope that helps!

7. Hi. I think there are lots of good tree businesses, but we have used Frazier Tree
Service (David Frazier, owner, (434) 975-3437 – in Crozet) several times and like them a
lot. The son took over the business from the father, who still does stump removal on
occasion. The son seems like a really nice guy. He's knowledgeable and reliable, and the
pricing seems fair. The last tree they took down was huge and bordered on our neighbor's
pristine lawn. They had to use one of her trees to leverage the limbs down which made me
really nervous, but the workers did a good job and cleaned up after themselves--you
couldn't tell they had been in her yard. I think it's worth getting a quote from him.

8. I recently looked in the archives for this one and Bartlett Tree Services (434-971-
3020) got a mention, although one woman was not happy with them. I checked into why
and apparently they took forever to come out after she signed a contract because the work
she needed done was small compared to their big clients like UVA.

The World Music Class for Little People

This is a fun and joyous class. The children absorb musical ideas through play, experimentation, and free creativity. We are using global folk music as the source material for studying a variety of essential concepts for the development of an organic musical sensibility. Drumming, singing (in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and others), movement, improvisation, original music and games are used to help the students become comfortable connecting music to their essential selves.

Pam Carmagnola is the founder and director of Kindermusik with Pam, based in Crozet, VA and serving western Albemarle, Nelson, and Augusta counties. Pam is passionate about bringing high-quality musical experiences to children and their families. Holding a BA in Communications from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pam is a Licensed and Board Certified Kindermusik Educator, a member of The Partnership for Kindermusik Educators (PKE), is currently serving as the Northeast Region Representative for the PKE, and founded The Blue Ridge Partnership for Kindermusik Educators locally. Kindermusik is a classroom learning experience. We teach children music so they can become better learners. It's not about making little Mozarts. My husband is a local family/general dentist. He performs most dental procedures to include professional bleaching and same day crown creation and repair. We offer lunchtime and family appointments, and we have currently started taking new patients again. We bill all insurance plans except Medicaid, and we participate with United Concordia and Delta Dental plans. Our waiting area and staff are very child friendly and we are located at 3048-A Berkmar Dr. off of Rio Road. Our office number is 434-973-0363.
